Oh no, Father Christmas!

Last night someone crept onto the courts at Driffield Rec, climbed over the net, and made off with Father Christmas's sack of toys. All that's left are muddy green footprints and a single tennis ball.

Father Christmas can't chase him on his own (too many mince pies), so he needs a team of super-speedy helpers. That's where you come in.

Join our festive fun run around the Rec, follow the clues, catch the Grinch and get the sack back in time for Christmas.

Safety notes

It's a fun run, not a race. Run, jog, walk or skip at your own pace.
Children must stay with their grown-up before and after their run.
The course is on grass and paths around the Rec and may be muddy. Wear trainers and something warm.
First aid will be on hand. Tell a marshal straight away if anyone is hurt or lost.
Please don't climb on the tennis nets or fences, however Grinch-like you're feeling.

Questions

How old do runners need to be?

Child tickets are for ages 3 to 15. Anyone 16 or over needs an adult ticket. Babies and toddlers in buggies are very welcome to come along and cheer for free.

Do spectators need a ticket?

No. Grandparents, friends and cheerleaders come free. Only the people running need a ticket.

What if it snows, rains or blows a gale?

We'll run in most weather, it's Christmas after all. If we have to cancel for safety, we'll email everyone and refund your tickets.

Can I get a refund if we can't come?

Get in touch through the contact page before the day and we'll sort it out.

Where does the money go?

Every ticket helps keep the courts at Driffield Rec open and affordable for the whole community, and pays for the runners' gifts.
